Maxwell School, Peer to Peer "A Case of Transformation in a Developing Society: Critical Evaluation of Government, Politics, People and Religion in Pakistan" Sanaullah Abro, 2013-2014 Humphrey Fellow Pakistan is a nation experiencing transformation in various sectors of society. The perception of this country is often seen through the lens of media coverage in the West. However, Pakistan is more than the headlines presented. Sanaullah Abro, a Syracuse Humphrey Fellow from Pakistan, offered perspectives of his country: the background, current trends and recent transformational developments in its government, politics, people, women and religion. Mr. Sanaullah Abro is a 2013-14 Syracuse Humphrey Fellow who comes to the Maxwell School from Pakistan, where he served as Deputy Collector of Customs at Pakistan Customs, Federal Board of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of Pakistan. During his time in the United States, Mr. Abro hopes to learn more about American trade management and gain exposure to strategies of economic development. Abro brought this professional knowledge— as well as cultural perspective from his home country— to the Peer to Peer forum with him, where he hoped to offer more insight into Pakistani life.
