On the fifth anniversary of the Syrian Civil War, following the release of a groundbreaking white paper on rape during the conflict by the Syrian Accountability Project, the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs hosted a panel discussion analyzing the ways in which gender plays a role in the victimization of civilians during the Syrian Civil War and other conficts. This panel was part of the half-day event "Spotlight on Syria: The Gendered Perils of War and Forced Migration" held March 24, 2016, a partnership of the Maxwell School, the Syrian Accountability Project, Syracuse University College of Law; and the SI Newhouse School of Public Communications.
