Pradeep Upadhyay, Syracuse University Aadhaar is a 12 digit identity number issued after collecting and de-duplicating biometric records of residents of India. The Aadhaar number helps to provide access to services like banking, mobile phone connections and other Government and Non-Government services. Mr. Pradeep Upadhyay is Assistant Director General of the Unique Identification Authority of India. He’ll discuss how Aadhaar allowed for social and financial inclusion in addition to improving efficiency and transparency in service delivery in Jharkhand State of India. About the speaker: Mr. Pradeep Upadhyay is pursuing a Certificate of Advanced Study in Public Administration with an interest in e-Government, innovative public administration practices, transparency, and leadership. He most recently was Assistant Director General of the Unique Identification Authority of India. Mr. Upadhyay earned a Bachelor in Commerce from Burdwan University in West Bengal, a Master of Commerce in Taxation from ICAI in New Delhi and Master of Laws in Secretarial Laws from ICSI in New Delhi.
