On May 11, 2018 the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University celebrated the upcoming commencement of its PhD and master's degree candidates at its annual Graduate Convocation Ceremony. Jeffrey Gonda, assistant professor of history and recipient of the 2018 Daniel Patrick Moynihan Award for Teaching and Research, was the convocation speaker and Marcus Bell '18 PhD (Sociology) was the student speaker.
