This video is in response to a fascinating article published on Business Insider on 7/3/17. You can see the full article below.

The article talks about Facebook's plans to turn its messenger platform into the new version of the yellow pages. Essentially Facebook plans to hook up messenger to the Facebook business directory. This will provide an interactive way for customers to speak to local businesses and brands.
A big part of this is going to be the implementation of messenger bots.
Messenger bots are a real hot topic in the world of online marketing and digital media. Bots can perform a wide variety of tasks that people used to need to do. However, there are some cons to using these bots as well.
The bots can not (yet) perform customer service inquiries quite like a person can. The best example that I have found is always though shipping and handling. Sometimes people have very specific needs that are time sensitive and relying on bots to relay the information always leaves a company vulnerable to a missed customer service opportunity.
There are always instances in where a person (and the emotional interaction between a business and a customer) can really build report and relationship.
Are we exchanging comfort and ease for service? Are we neglecting the emotional element of connection with our businesses?
Only time will tell. For now, I am just interested to see how messenger bots will be worked into the current system and how the public will reach to them.
